First Ecuadorian Festival of its kind to take place in Dublin
ECUADORIAN Dancers to visit Dublin to BRING RELIEF TO EARTHQUAKE SURVIVORS
A press release from Ecuadorians in Ireland (Ecuadorianos en Irlanda) about what looks to be an excellent inaugural festival showcasing Ecuador's culture. The events will also raise funds for the victims of the earthquake, geared towards long-term projects related to education and construction, inter alia. There was an event held in the Mansion House earlier this year to raise funds. Photos and vidcaps from that event courtesy of Yeah! Espanol's youtube channel. Yeah! Ireland for Ecuador fundraising Festival 2016
Ireland’s first-ever ECUADORIAN Dance FESTIVAL takes place in DUBLIN this October
The Ecuadorian Community in Ireland is organising a Fundraising Festival called Ireland for Ecuador 2016 in an effort to support reconstruction projects across an area of Ecuador which was very badly affected by the massive earthquake there in April, when thousands were injured and hundreds lost their lives.
The Festival takes place over the weekend of October 14th, 15th and 16th.
Day one of the festival kicks off on Friday, October 14 2016 with dancers launching a photo exhibition at Trinity College, followed by three events on Saturday 15th October in the impressive surroundings of Christ Church Cathedral where there will be a craft fair and dance displays from 3pm to 9pm.
The Ireland For Ecuador 2016 Festival will showcase Ecuadorian culture and traditions through folk music & dancing, spoken word narrations, images and a display of handicrafts.
Trinity College Dublin is one of the main sponsors of the Ireland for Ecuador 2016 fundraising festival, thanks to funds provided by its Schools of Education and Visual and Performing Arts faculty.
